Hey there /r/FireEmblem,

I'm on the lookout for a talented graphic artist that would be willing to recreate/modify the label from the cartridge of the original Japanese Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi (Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade), "simply" translating it to English and adding the typical marks of a genuine U.S. release.

Why, you ask? Well, if we're able to achieve an a translation of the original label up to what would be considered "official" quality, it'll be used with a very high quality physical copy of "The Binding Blade" translation (not the mediocre "Sword of Seals" translation). As we're never going to see an official English release for this title on the Gameboy Advance, why not make the next best thing as close to official as possible?

If needed, perhaps someone from the community could provide a high quality scan of the original Japanese cartridge's label. I own a copy of the original release, however, my scanner is not efficient enough to scan the label from the cartridge without any imperfections. Can't seem to eradicate the blur.

This is the best that I could muster. It wasn't even scanned..had to take the picture with my phone, and it's still awful quality. We're good to drop the text from the upper left, as well as the "FIREEMBLEM" text. The ESRB tag, Nintendo logo, Nintendo Seal, and model number should be affixed just as in the FE7 and FE8 releases.

Eventually, I'd also like to create a box and manual as close to what Nintendo would have done..but that's much further off and would require much more work. One day, hopefully!

I'd like to note that I'm not the mastermind behind the cartridge reproduction itself..only spearheading the label reproduction, and unfortunately, my skills in graphical arts are pretty..awful.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • We're looking for the best of the best here. Should multiple people decide to attempt this, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings if their work is not chosen. Do not attempt this if you cannot handle possible rejection.

  • If you'd like to be compensated it can be discussed prior, but clearly there will be no payment for something that is not used.

  • This reproduction will obviously not be free of charge. If you're uncomfortable with contributing to something you probably won't see any money out of, please don't bother attempting this.
