Torment: Tides of Numenera is 50% off on Steam this week. But...

Wonderful story, setting, sound, atmosphere, references, companions etc; really artistically done. It is videogame literature par excellence, first and foremost about experiencing the story and wondering about this Ninth World. Is is not primarily a "videogame understood by the rules of a game", so to say, and my impression is that gameplay, exceptionally nowadays, is not the key to it makes it so outstanding. TToM does not simulate a streamlined board game with a perfect gameplay formula. By which I mean, the gameplay works well, but it is not as elementary as the outstanding artistic qualities of story and delightfully weird worldbuilding. And this goes beyond the all-too limited quality expectations for videogames.
