Netflix acquiring rights to stream berserk anime... maybe if its popular enough they could end up funding a new anime

As someone who has never played the games, I went into it with no expectations and ended up struggling to enjoy it. The story just didn't engage me, it felt weirdly paced, like there were multiple episodes of characters just standing around talking, as if they needed to save animation costs for the battles. There was a lot of swearing that felt like it was written by 14 year olds trying to be edgy (including a several minute conversation about fucking a goat). The villains didn't feel threatening at any point, and even fucking Dracula himself just sat around being sad. The commoners were all shitty religious zealots so I didn't care if they were saved or not. And there were other things too, but I digress.

I watched to the end of season two, which felt like the end of the show itself (maybe they thought it was gonna be cancelled). The beginning of the third season bored me so much I actually fell asleep a couple times, so I just gave up there.

I'll give the show credit for having good animation and fight scenes, but I just couldn't get engaged with the characters or story. It doesn't matter how nice a fight scene looks if I don't care who is fighting or if they even win.

I saw another show the director did that was about super heroes or something and it was... bad. Like astoundingly bad. Also in interviews he's said that if he did Berserk he would skip the Golden Age arc. I get that it's been covered twice already, but I know that I and many Berserk fans would prefer an adaption to start from the beginning (Black Swordsman) and cover everything properly.
