Triploidy/Trisomy 13

There is actually a Facebook group called "Trisomy 13 Life Support", and quite a large number of babies actually survive with full T13 until teenage/early adulthood which I was shocked to see as it is always advised to be terminal. My positive ended up being false, but it was quite confronting to realise the baby may live beyond birth with multiple issues. Alternatively you may view the posts as a sign of hope - the parents in the group are certainly grateful for their alive children. It really depends on your perspective but I found it helpful to be aware that it's not automatically a terminal diagnosis if that was factoring into your decision (ie that you won't be raising the child). I hope this doesn't come across as insensitive in any way, I just believe in being fully informed ❤️ thinking of you x
