Trying to find the art sub that's not too pretentious for my sketchbook. I think I found the place.

Crap, I lost the statement I wrote up before. Here's a short description for you- I think people's relationship to sex and violence are hilarious. Most people find both to be mildly vulgar, but most people that observed someone fighting in a bar or on the street would be more shocked at someone fucking in the same place. A naked person could elicit far more shock than a middle finger in many cases. It's illegal to prostitute, but legal to wage war. Bloody bodies smear our televisions with blurred out nipples. It's ridiculous. It 's funny to me that most people will be more offended at the sexual imagery than the violence, or will only find the violence wrong in a sexual context.

There's a hilarious way we uphold women in our society and subconcious too. I don't mean that negatively towards them in general, most of my closest friends have been women for a long time. There's something about the female form that invokes a sense of angelic...Ness in many people's minds. It does it in my own. It may have something to do with upholding the mother/saviour image in our heads. But it only usually works with a "normal" healthy female. Sometimes you can get a slightly angelic feel from wrinkly or out of shape women, look at people like mother theresa. For the most part though, even if they are the nicest people on the planet, they are categorized in the mind as somehow less valid on some level. A perfect bitch of a woman with a good body will get a sort of hateful admiration- she may be horrible, but her body is suc h an exquisite example of nature's fine tuning! Men don't receive as much of this, though I admit an attractive asshole will get some of those hateful admiration type reactions. For the most part though, seeing a dead female body or a dead male body, people will get all sorts of weird about the female. They also seem to get much more worked up about looking at a picture of a vagina than a penis, which is also pretty funny to me.

The last thing that affects my art that isn't aesthetic or emotional is occult symbolism, which i'm sure was part of that comment. I like to use cliche, shit upon, malappropriated things like your basic pentacles and inverted crosses. While they do hold meaning to me, they mainly hold a bunch of idiot ideas in The pop culture overmind, and I enjoy simultaneously using the vague fear associations that come along with them, and to make fun of myself and most other modern "magicians" who stumble blindly through a shallow, murky occult culture on the beaches of a veritable fucking ocean. I like to repeat my own trash sygul In my art too, the cross of tikal.

And dude, i only posted in r/wtfart because it wasn't getting a reception anywhere else, and this community seems really open to the art that other people don't want to look at.

Enjoy, please hahaha
