Their s1+2 foundation is really strong. And, though i'm looking forward to no more separation, my investment in their relationship has grown since,especially this season. Their shared trauma and insecurities towards each other are what make it so compelling to me. They just need more lighthearted moments and some heart-to-heart for a more satisfying portrayal. It's not always smooth sailing ( which is partially what prevents it from getting boring ,actually) but it's clear how much they care about each other. I think what's a bit lacking at the moment is Mike being in danger or in need of comfort. Personally, i would like to see the dynamic of emotional support providing and being there for the other to shift for a bit, it would be good development imo.
