Have gone on 2 test drives of Camry hybrid so far. First one was a 2015 Camry hybrid SE , and the miles per gallon showing up on the display was 34.7 mpg, which is still lower than the EPA rating, so found it odd and did not go with it.

And the other one was at a dealer for 2015 Camry hybrid XLE(pre-owned certified), and as soon as i took the driver's seat, i checked the mpg, it was showing up 24.3 mpg. The salesperson said they just drove within the lot and went ahead and reset it. Then we did a 7 mile loop with good number of stops, some small ups and downs and also some highway driving. I did not floor the accelerator at all, always drove in the Eco mode, never in power, to find out how much it might give. In the end it just showed up at 26 mpg, which is quite less for a hybrid. Told the sales person, the EPA rating is around 40 and it cannot be this less. He was reasoning it wrongly with me, saying that we have to drive longer drive to get better results etc. And not sure, why he reset the mpg at the first place.
