Vandy vs UChicago?

The school cultures are very different, as are the cities and location. Chicago is having a fairly serious crime problem right now. It’s cold to frigid for a significant amount of the school year. However, the city is much larger than Nashville with plenty to do and the lake is gorgeous. Nashville is a smaller city but there’s also lots to do and with much better weather. Chicago will be easier for travel purposes as there’s probably a direct flight. UChicago is more “prestigious” and more intense academically. It also has a slightly higher percentage of international students if that’s important to you. It’s unofficial motto was where fun goes to die. Not sure if that’s still true but could be. Maybe some current students will weigh in. The students at Vanderbilt are very smart and friendly. Vanderbilt is also very flexible in terms of majors and double majoring is easy. Also easy to move between their various schools.
