HOLY FUCKING CHRIST that is stupid. That is such a fucking profoundly stupid statement that I can't believe I read it, even on the internet. There are many different ideas regarding economics and the best way to get rich, but the idea that rich people don't spend money on frivolities is fucking idiotic.
Have you ever been in a rich person's house? I HAVE MANY, MANY TIMES. I have dated very wealthy women, and I have several family members that are 100% winning at the game of life.
Who the fuck do you think drinks $300 bottles of wine? Poor people? Fuck you they drink 2 buck chuck... of just Old E. Who has nice weddings and takes limos to the airport? Who buys a $600 suit? Who goes to art gallerias and buys expensive ass paintings and shit? You think the fucking poor of this nation are rolling around in fucking half million dollar cars with pearl necklaces with a trunk full of art on their way to their fucking summer homes? Who the fuck has a summer home? You don't get that shit from minimum wage! Who buys fucking designer cloths? I'm not talking about a single pair of Chucks, I'm talking a closet full of Prada and Valentino.
Do poor people get iPhones? Sure they do. And that's their one big "because I wanted it" style frivolity for like 4 months, if you can count a smartphone as a frivolity in this age of western civilization.
People don't get rich because they scrimp and save while living in a shack in the ghetto. YOU DON'T ESCAPE THE FUCKING GHETTO. They get rich because they make good investments, have good jobs, or both. And both of those things require education, which usually means the person's family had at least enough money to live comfortably in a good neighborhood with good schools. I'm not even knocking rich people here. You got money? Without being a dick? Great. More power to you. But don't fucking pretend that the rich are rich because they only spend a reasonable amount of money. The rich buy the most fucking ridiculous goddamn things, and they often do it just to show off the amount of money they have.
