I don't know if it would be good to have a sequel, it would be better to think that Edmond would enjoy a quiet life with Haydee
Sometimes I think Edmond could have died like Nikolai Rezanov and his bride María de la Concepción Marcela Argüello y Moraga, commonly referred to simply as Concepción Argüello, or "Conchita" became a nun, haydee netra for a convent.
Or Haydee would become a lifelong widow like Princess Nino Chavchavadze after the death of her husband, the poet Alexander Chavchavadze. But I don't think about Edmond if
widowed and returning to Mercedes. The relationship is over, it's not a relationship of comings and goings like Liz Taylor and Richard Buron.
