I hear ya. My friends keep telling me the same but it is also about principle: integrity and hard work is my middle name. Cheesy, I know.

3) Quitting means never to set foot in this company again (and it's a world wide company with 19.000 employees in Germany alone). I got into this company in order to have worldwide options and to have a "professional home" no matter where I choose to live.

4) Quitting means being unemployed and struggling to keep my apartment for example. If I am not quick enough to find new employement, the government will be demanding for me to move into a newer place since one person is not allowed to live in a space larger than 35 square metres

5) I'd rather be on my toes for another year in order to finish my journalism studies on the side while browsing options. I actually left my management position in the same company a year ago in order to have more time for my private life and my studies. But they still see me as a threat even though I am super quiet.

6) That Abfindung has to be generous indeed and would be the very last step in case everything fails. They've offered me 5G which ist less that half of what should have been offered. Receiving an "Abfindung" means that it will be calculated against unemployment money by the government.

7) I have done nothing wrong and that is first and foremost why I will be strong. I can back out AFTER weighing all options. But until then: serenity, AB skincare, family, friends, and a positive outlook on things.
