Weirdness

I feel ya, but not for a character, it was my home.

I used to play Eve Online a lot. I joined something called Faction Warfare where two massive militias fight for territory (solar systems). You can't dock in any of the space stations of enemy territory, so if they take your home system, you have to move all your shit and find a new home.

Some systems would flip back and forth and it didn't really matter much. Rakapas was not one of those systems, it was essential. I won't go into details but both sides wanted it really badly, and it also happened to be the base of operations for me and my corporation (guild).

When the Gallente began their siege, I fought day and night to hold them back. I flew out ships and weapons to help arm my comrades in the defence. I even FC'd a few times (FC = Fleet Command. Tell a bunch of my fellow nerds where to fly and who to shoot).

Alas, Rakapas fell. We had 24 hours to clear out our stuff and find a new home.

My corporation fell apart after that. We left Faction Warefare and moved to Nullsec (Eve's badlands) to try and start a new life, but one by one our players disbanded to join various other corporations. I too searched for a new home for a while, but eventually stopped playing.

But I'll never forget the good times we had in Rakapas.
