I feel left out and like a failure or lower value when I visit my parents and see all the displays of grandchildren photos all clustered on the mantle together, and when I found out that my two brothers and our parents have regular weekly visits with all the grandkids at once, and don’t invite my spouse or I, because it’s about seeing “the kids”, they said...so I’ve felt myself drifting away from wanting to spend time with my family. Also my spouse’s family member sends me drunken messages saying that I am selfish and don’t understand what it’s like to be busy or have pressure or whatever she is ranting about that day, “because we don’t have kids”. We’ve explained to her that we’ve had difficulties conceiving and find her words hurtful and yet she continues to do it. Thankfully I have awesome friends though!
