What is the difference between the 'Antminer chip temperature' and the 'ASIC' temperature?

I have build a soundproof area for them and I am cooling them and pumping out exhaust. This is with 220V, is yours running at 125V?

Every site I have found so far indicates this is normal operating temperature.

Generally, the temperature of the PCB will be around 65℃~90℃, the temperature of the chip will be around 80℃ ~115℃ which is normal.

The “Miner Status” page of Antminer S9 is quite different from the “Miner Status” page Antminer S7. You will find out that there are two temperatures here, one is “Temp(PCB)” and another is “Temp(Chip)“.

The “Temp(Chip)” may get as high as 100 degrees(or much higher than 100 degrees), that’s normal, please don’t worry. The “Temp(PCB)” is the temperature of the miner.

Temps look perfect. Up to 105C is the limit - not desirable but can be up there if needed

My s9's always have one board that is hotter than the rest, and from what I have read in the s9 thread it seems a common problem. It has to do with the way the heat sinks are configured and the airflow.

According to Bitmain the chip can operate normally up to 105c degrees. I don't think I would let mine get that high. Maybe 95-100 before I started down clocking or cranking up the a/c.

The fan speed must be set above 60% to keep the PCB temperature below 80°C, and chip temperature below 115°C

So yeah, it is definitely hot, but still 20-25°C below the rated max.
