Please, Nursing is easy, he's read the course catalogue...

My grandpa was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and hospitalized all unexpectedly. I was more focused on what the nurses and doctors were doing than my own work... it was absolutely fascinating asking them anything that came to mind and listening to the rationale and willingness to teach anybody who would listen. The more questions I asked the more I realized that although I was pretty good at the school aspect of engineering, I wasnt interested in it as much as I was interested in listening to these people talk.

When I switched over, it was surprised at how similar the concepts are, but taught with different intent. For example, with the heart in nursing you learn about cardiac indexes, outputs, conduction, rates and pressures and how they correlate in the body during different disease processes. In engineering, youre doing problems with pumps with different rates, powers, and pressures to calculate how fast shit drains in certain diameter pipes (or whatever you want to use as an example).

It was pretty similar work, with a human aspect that engineering was missing.
