What Sports and Activities are Ok?

they teach strict hspu, strict pullups, strict bar muscle ups, strict ring muscle ups. They know how to do these things correctly- they just also have developed methods for doing them for speed. I'm not saying the methods are sound but the injury rate for crossfit is comparable to other strength sports which are all lower than field sports and combat sports.

I love to bag on crossfit. It's easy. But man, they have done so much to get folks away from a sedentary lifestyle and they are one of the few methods that really promotes training across a wide variety of domains. On a competition level they really do force their athletes to be prepared for just about anything- can't run long distance? can't swim? can't ride a bike? Can't climb? guess what they will throw at you... and then they'll have youcarry some heavy shit and max out a few lifts...and the athletes usually succeed (that pegboard climb one year was an abject failure) which lends to the idea that crossfit really is quite functional and does prepare folks for most athletic activities at some level.
