What would it take to make you believe not ACAB?

Made this list during summer 2020:

• No more no-knock raids • Brutality insurance will be deducted from officer paychecks (NOT an additional expense to taxpayers), insurance companies could then regulate who is insurable/uninsurable based on their temperament and history • Incentives for officers to turn in other officers who abuse their position • No lying to civilians about their rights • Body cam footage will be saved live to the cloud and stored for 90 days (longer if any investigation is underway or a complaint has been lodged about a police interaction) • No more cops involved with traffic stops. • No more “wellness checks” by cops, these will be conducted by qualified mental health professionals • No more enforcement of marijuana prohibition • Demilitarize -- no more tank-like vehicles, advanced weaponry, or tear gas. • No shows of force or intimidation at protests, ie, flying aircraft low overhead • Overhaul training -- no more teaching officers to protect themselves first at all costs, no more instilling fear and paranoia • Must take longer to become a cop, and training must include sociology, law, and history courses that a potential officer must pass to join the force (and demonstrate some level of intelligence) • Adjust recruitment methods -- attempt to recruit more desirable personality types and more diverse individuals • Police involved with less -- no more showing up before an ambulance, dealing with homeless • No more qualified immunity • No more “ghost cars” ... police vehicles must be clearly marked as such • End civil asset forfeiture • Online database of police misconduct complaints -- full transparency • No more profit motive -- policing should be for safety only, not extorting cash from the public. No more ticket quotas. • Looking or acting “suspicious” is not cause for anything. Too vague. If an actual law is not being broken, no action shall be taken — this goes for people calling the cops on “suspicious” people as well • Officers found participating in/voicing support for any code of silence, and/or displaying the “thin blue line” symbol or flag (which represents that code of silence) while on or off duty will be terminated. • No more police unions
