Whats the pharmacy program at MUN like?

Pharmacy fellow here. From what I’ve experienced so far, I’ve broken it up in sections below. If you have more questions feel free to comment or dm me.

Preparation: I started preparing for pharmacy through hs. That included extracurriculars and volunteering. Grades are the focus too. After that, you have to put your head down and study. The first year and the general studies will speak volumes about who you are in the interview period and decisions to allow you to come to an interview. I can’t and won’t go into detail here regarding the interview on a public forum but it is a specific set of students and characteristics they’re looking for. Let’s just say waltzing in after a night of drinking and trying to do the interview half hungover won’t do.

Program: The program does increase in difficulty as time progresses. Last year is primarily placements and you will be placed at clinically throughout the years. You are provided sufficient info and skills to handle in the increase in responsibility as years go on through practice courses.

Yes, there are ad-hoc instructors and some courses aren’t the focus like others since they’re fillers, but you can let your interest shine there and get good grades. Most instructors are fair. We do have classes with main campus instructors as well.

Practice and placements: The placements are fun but will challenge you. There are a lot of responsibilities to handle that the preceptors introduce to you and the volunteer experience and extracurriculars I mentioned earlier will help you. Practice and work are your own avenue and students Chios to work for money and/or experience and it’s looked at as a good supplement.

Cheers.
