What do you mean by power laws? Just the existence of some relationship in the form y=ax-k?
But yeah, a lot of the modern day anti-capitalist stuff as well as the laffer curve stuff of the 80s (not the laffer curves existence, but the unwavering and incorrect belief that we are always on the right of its peak) is just deeply ignorant nonsense. At the end of the day I have an econ degree from a good school, I read about the subject in my free time, and macroeconomics is still EXTREMELY difficult for me to follow at times. It’s genuinely baffling that people who know even less than that think they are somehow too good for the mainstream when they’re nowhere close to even grasping it. The average person doesn’t even understand fractional reserve banking yet thinks they’re qualified to talk about the fed and how they’re lying to us about the real causes of inflation (lol).
