explanation if you want it: about 2 years ago i (17)was going through the most intense depression i’d ever experienced. i went to a karaoke night at my work and this old guy comes up to the stage and he starts playing hurt. i had a strong sense of nostalgia and couldn’t put my finger on where i had heard it from until he’s starts to sing the lyrics. suddenly i remember sitting in front of my dad and he’s playing this song on his guitar, i got a clear memory of his voice singing. all i felt was a deep grief. i left immediately. like i said before i was already going through a little more than i could handle. when i got home i sat in my bathtub and tried to commit. my biological dad died when i was 15 and ig i let my self get to low and hearing that song topped it off for me. i’ll never listen to that song in front of people. it’s ironic how much hurt hurts.
