To add to xeim answered, power recommended does remains the same for attacking monster. It is the power recommended for the troop power you have in your formation. Even Though sometime you met the recommended power or over , you might still failed to defeat the monster for quest if you sent only infantry. Because infantry does little damage. bow and cav does the most damage but they die quickly without infantry. For monster you are better off with little infantry, some cav, and some bowmen to have victory against the monster and finished the quest. Hope we have answered your question.
