What was your high school experience like?

Hated it, mostly. None of my middle school friends went to the same high school as me, and I never really made any new friends. I had people that I talked to and sat with in class and break, but no one that I hanged with outside of school. Still got a 4.0 easy peasy. If homework took longer than 30 mins I wouldn't do it. I had an awesome biology teacher who sparked my love for natural sciences, and an awesome algebra 2 teacher who always used hands on work (:D). At no point in my time in high school did I do extra curricular's. Sports, formals, clubs: nada.

I attended 10th grade because things were alright the year before. The school was friendly, no bullying, generally good teachers. I always loved previous math classes, but this one (trig) sucked and was what ultimately led me to the decision that high school as it is wasn't for me. The content itself was easy, but the class was dreadful. We taught ourselves at home, then reviewed and tested during class time. I hated this method, as I had to actually use my time at home to work and my time in school was spent browsing reddit because I didn't need any help. Then, the teacher incorporated english skills into the class. We would have seminars about tests and answers. It dropped my grade like crazy so I ended up skipping a lot of those classes and not bothering. The breaking point was when she discussed that school wasn't for learning how to do things that you'll apply in the real world, but how to react to situations and people. I think that same day when I got home I talked to my mom about dropping out once this year was over and she agreed. I stopped bothering that year and just got A's and B's. I had to wiggle my way out of detentions with fake doctor notes because I skipped so many days.

Got my GED with all honors the same month I dropped out (the end of that school year). Enrolled in trade school and finally we just learn. No strings attached. I really love it, and don't regret my decision. :)
