I worked for a franchise once and when they sent us wrong stuff or things we didn’t order, they would often tell us that we could either have it shipped back or they could pay for the item and keep it. Sometimes, though, the distribution center might not want it for whatever reason and just tell you to keep it for free because it’s not worth the cost in shipping to them . Sometimes we’d just write it off as a donation if we didn’t want to keep it, but the rules of a Starbucks retail store might be stricter. They may not allow things to just be written off.

Not sure if that made sense but basically there are a lot of weird rules when it comes to ordering product for a franchise location
