Would nuts + protein source + fruit a healthy paleo meal on the go ?

Yes, good snacks.

The original paleo that I lost 135 on, nuts were all great except for two: peanuts (lectins) and cashews (technically legumes, lectins).

I ate almond butter, sunbutter, cooked/baked with almond flour, almond paste, bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with almonds, sprouted almonds (higher protein), walnut butter (lowers cholesterol), etc. Really immerse yourself for a while in the original paleo 'rules' and read many recipes. You'll get a sense of what's paleo, and the health reasons why paleo avoids some things. Eventually I did 'primal,' and included cheese, yogurt, & kefir. I remember some of what I read was on a site called Mark's Daily Apple.
