Week 10 @ [/DET](Detroit Lions), L 16-20

That’s enough excitement for the season. Let’s ruin the season with a bunch of more injuries! Enough of them piled up, and combine that with more terrible coaching and bad depth, and you have the Dolphins second half of the season. The team completely failed to put away the game against the Broncos, almost lost in a tremendously horrible game against the Jets, and lost 3 of the next 4 (and won a game due to a lucky break against the Vikings). The team went from looking like a 6-2 team, to a team that wouldn't have surprised me if they had gone 1-7. The defense just gave up, receivers were not making catches, and Dallas Thomas is a bitch. (5-4)

Geno Smith perfect passer rating (Phil-Bin)

2014 Highlights Players * Ryan Tannehill – MVP of the season. After the ill-founded media reports of Philbin benching Tannehill (even when he was one of the best elements in the offense… and you dweebs really need to read more than just headlines), Tannehill had a stellar season, and the best one by a Dolphins QB since 1998…. Yes, that includes one of Marino’s seasons. He is the Franchise QB for years to come, and fans that don’t like it can suck it.

  • Cameron Wake – His first half of the season would’ve put him in consideration for the DPOY, had it not been to JJ Watt historic performance. His second half suffered due to bad secondary play, but he is still as dominant as it can get.

  • SS Reshad Jones – Had it not been due to the PED suspension, the guy could have probably netted an All-Pro award, as well as going to the Pro-Bowl. He was amazing. Glorioso. Admirável. Magnifique. I’d totally be his seahorse. For fucks sake, his position is accurately called a Lobo-back (similar to Brian Urlacher, but deeper). How much more awesome can that get!?

Staff * OC Bill Lazor – From a team that would abandon the run on the second half with Sherman, Lazor showed promise after getting over some rookie OC mistakes. The games against the Lions and the Packers, arguably, would’ve been won had we had any other HC, since it was Philbin who would override some of Lazor playcalls with pussy-footed, conservative plays, resulting in turning the ball over. Some fans have been over-excited about him, and wanting him to take over head coach duties (haha no… but cute).

  • GM Dennis Hickey – Holy shit, this guy had an amazing offseason. None of the rookies looked bad in what little time they played, compared to Ireland’s hit or miss year in and outs. Jordan Tripp, Matt Hazel, Terrence Fede, Chris McCain, Damien Williams, Orleans Darkwa (yer welcome, Giants) were all drafted from the 4th round out (or UDFAs), and they all looked like solid, raw talent that have developed nicely. Not to mention that everybody given a contract in Free Agency played their contract well worth it.

2014 Lowlights Players * Offensive line – What a fucking disaster. Daryn Colledge did a complete 180 after his great preseason work, and became one of the worst starting guards in the league. RG Dallas Thomas was SO bad during the preseason, that Mike Pouncey was moved to take over his duties and we brought in SAMSON FUCKING SATELE to take over C, all to keep Dallas Thomas from starting. And guess what? Pouncey also sucked. And Satele also sucked. And Shelley Fox also sucked. Then Branden Albert went down for the season, and Ja’Wuan James took over as a LT, and he also sucked. And Dallas Thomas had to start at RT… and… fucking kill me now. By far the WORST O-Line of the season, and WAY worse than last season once time Branden Albert went down.

  • Secondary – Started out promising, with Brent Grimes and Cortland Finnegan being the main CBs, and sufficient depth after them. Then Finnegan got injured and never went back to good form. Then Louis Delmas got injured. Then Jamar Taylor got injured. Then Will Davis got injured. Then Jimmy Wilson decided to be a bitch ass punk and draw a bunch of unnecessary penalties due to anger. Then we were using special teamers as starters. Then we were using free agency special teamers as starters, since our special teamers were also getting injured. Dude... Staff

* Doubts about Kevin Coyle – Was it the fact we were starting special teamers what brought down the defense? Or was it a DC that would use Cameron Wake to drop down into coverage (his weakness) instead of using Dion Jordan (who was mainly taking special team snaps)? He went from having the 2nd best defense in the league, to one of the worst. I want to give him at least one more season, but the always knowledgeable Facebook Dolphins fans seem to disagree.

2014 Rookie Recap

Ju'Wuan James came into the league being called a reach, but proved people wrong for most of the season showing that he can step into the RT position, and play it lights out. As the season went on, and injuries took their toll (the fall of Branden Albert), Ju'Wuan James was moved over to LT where he did decently but didn't do as well as he did at RT. Ju'Wuan James had a strong rookie campaign and the future looks bright.

Jarvis Landry started his rookie campaign a little rocky. He struggled with special teams, making some bone headed mistakes. However, he ended the season catching 76% of the balls thrown in his direction, and showing himself to be a dependable target catching at a better percentage than the rest of the WR corps. It is safe to say, people are excited to see where he goes on from here.

Billy Turner had a quiet first season. He spent some of it injured, but he did see some limited action towards the end of the season. Jury is still out on him.

Walt Aikens had an okay year, nothing was quite noteworthy of him. Word on the street however, is that the coaching staff might try and transfer him to a Safety position. Another wait and see.

Arthur Lynch spent the season on the IR.

Jordan Tripp did nothing noteworthy this year. He had two tackles in the Oakland blow out, and one more when we lost in Massachusetts.

Matt Hazel had a promising preseason before being cut. He spent the season on the Practice Squad. I'm hoping he gets his chance next year, he looks promising.

Terrence Fede had a better season than most expected him to have. He had 1 sack, 1 blocked punt and 10 tackles. He is making Marist proud by being the only Red Fox drafted ever and showing he deserved it. Damian Williams averaged 3 ypc this year, while being used mostly as a receiving back. He was used very well in that position, and next season will be exciting to see how much he improves.

2015 Offseason

2015 Team Needs and Cap Space (by /u/beefat99)

LB: Our run defense wasn't very good this past year, and our linebacking corp was part of the problem, but Jelani Jenkins emerged this year, and he's only going to get better. It got beat up from the start of the year, but with some added depth, we should be better.

OLine: Our O-Line improved from last year, but it didn't improve by that much. This year, Ryan Tannehill only got sacked 46 times, and that is thanks to Branden 'Protect the Hill' Albert and Ju'Wuan James playing lights out in their tackle positions, but sadly Branden Albert went down in the Detroit game for the season. The bad part wasn't

Rookie Tackle Ju'Wuan James being moved to LT and losing Branden Albert, but it was Dallas Thomas starting at RT. With depth added to the line, we can be less worried at night about the line being wrecked when injuries occur, and give Ryan time to destroy the opposing defenses.

Defensive Backs: Honestly, our defensive back situation isn't that bad. Brent Grimes is still playing well, and we held up pretty well against passing threats (See Detroit and Green Bay), but we need to add some talented young depth at this position. Brent Grimes isn't getting any younger, and Louis Delmas is most likely leaving, so we'd be left with Jimmy Wilson playing Strong Safety, which he isn't very good at. The Cornerback position could also use some depth.

Defensive Tackle: If Jared Odrick leaves, than we need someone to fill up the large gap created by his departure. Each of our division rivals have/had good runningbacks (even New York..), and we can't risk being weak against the run. This problem may have already been solved since we have 7 defensive tackles on the roster, with 3 being on the IR and 4 on the main roster, but it is still unknown if we can replace him with someone already in the organization or will we have to bring someone in to do so.
