The soldiers in a war should always also follow geneva conventions when fighting. But let me try to explain from their point of view. This man was dead as soon as he got captured. There are many reasons why Many Iraqis have had one or more relatives and family members killed by ISIS, either on the front lines or back at home by a car bomb. People have lost loved ones, and this war therefore have become more personalised. They are more driven by emotions than anything else. Let's do not forget speaker, where 1700 Iraqi soldiers got killed. Any ISIS members will get the same treatment. This looks like PMU more then Iraqi SWAT team (that is dressed normally in all black). The PMU is made of volunteers that defend their country against Deash, and they are therefore not career soldiers. They are not as disciplined as normal soldiers. Iraqi prison system is fucked. When Deash members get a trail they will often get the death punishment ( as they deserve), but the problem is that the PM has to sign off on it before they can get executed. PM who wants to sign off on it often gets pressured by the Sunni members of the parliament, and with the gulf media making headlines like "The Shia PM is killing SUNNIS", it often gets delayed and not done. The military has their have taken matters into their own hand and will execute Deash fighters when captured, especially if they get captured with weapons or wearing military clothing like in this post. As I said, this dude was dead, they made this Instagram post just to let people get off some steam. He probably got killed as soon as the first picture was taken, they did not wait an hour unless they needed information. Well here is the facts, not sure if this sub really cares about them tho.
