10-12” Dob Too Much for First Scope?

I have a 10 inch Meade Lightbridge, what I like about it is that it has a truss tube design so the telescope can be taken apart to be highly compact and portable. Especially nice since I drive a tiny car. T a 10 inch telescope can provide awesome views of the planets and deep sky objects and I think it's well worth the price. The only thing I'd consider is the bigger the telescope, the harder it is to get out and use it. But if, like you mentioned, you can just wheel it out on a dolly, I don't see why you wouldn't opt for a larger aperture.

TL;DR An 8" dob is an excellent starting point, but if you'd like to go bigger, the only harm is transportation. If you're satisfied with the light conditions at your home, bigger is better IMO.
