5800x3d and zen 3 pricing

I think with the downvotes people misunderstood your point.

But it's valid and probably a primary reason AMD hasn't lowered prices.

AMD swayed a lot of people to AM4 with Zen2, and if I were managing sales at AMD, I would be looking at board partner data on B450/X470/B550/X570, and making a logical assumption that as long as there's a much larger ratio of those boards versus Zen3 parts, then there are more people out there that will find Zen3 pricing more acceptable than the cost of swapping to another platform.

It's playing the long game, and with how well Zen3 has sold, they've likely determined they can keep margins high as long as there are still plenty of boards out there capable of running Zen3.
