Do you know about the Crypto-Christians in Turkey?

I've met a couple people who I guess are kinda Crypto-Christians. Emphasis on "kinda". Frankly I don't know what category they belong in. They called themselves Muslim and had Muslim sounding names AND beleive that Mukhammed was a prophet...BUT they were sure that Mukhammed was only a prophet of the Arabs to steer them to monotheism and that most of the Islamic texts are forgeries of the Ummayads and that non-Arabs have to follow the last prophet of all peoples (Jesus) whose commands supersede the Old Testament and not Mukhammed. In the end they basically act like the red-letter Christians (the ones who only follow what Jesus specifically said) and are really pacifist and even do a eucharist like thing with starting suppers on Fridays with bread and wine and are bit obsessed with fish even though they weren't fishermen by trade (although their families used to be). I think that has to do with Jesus being a "fisher of men" but also that their ancestors were fishermen might also be a big part. Some even say "Our Father" but a lot butcher the words to it a bit. It's just so very very different from the Arab and Pakistani definition of what a Muslim is, but they are genuinely shocked when told that they are just basically red-letter Christians with a couple Muslim names thrown in. Frankly though I think that if you are at the point of saying "our father" and doing the bread and wine thing even if you don't call it Eucharist and think that Jesus was the last prophet that you have not follow you're basically a Christian even if you truly do not beleive that you are.

This is not a mainstream Muslim belief in most communities to put it mildly.

I'm kind curious what the other crypto-Christian communities are like.
