[advice] what do I need to know about MPH?

That’s a really good question and I’m going to give you a not really good (but true!) answer. I am a recent MPH grad in social/behavioral sciences. In my concentration (and you can honestly check LinkedIn to back up what I’m saying), people in social/behavioral sciences go into everything: consultant, health educator, public health analyst, policy analyst, research coordinator/specialist, UX researcher, program evaluator, program designer/planner, data scientist/analyst etc etc etc. This depends on their interests and specific skill sets:

You said you wanted to do research though, which is probably the most easy and straightforward job to find as long as the project is of interest to you and the tasks align with the social/behavioral stuff.

I think it’s important to note that I am a behavioral/social scientist by degree and experience, but my official job title is not that and most people’s aren’t either. But time and time again I’m using various methods to measure and analyze people’s needs, behaviors, attitudes etc and that can be seen in several jobs.
