I don't believe there's such thing as Ancient Evil.

Your theory doesn't makes sense with The Giant.

After you complete the easter egg in The Giant, Maxis found us and says he will destroy the site.

How does he have the ability to destroy things ? The answer is simple.

"Vril" the ancient power to heal and destroy.

"Vril is the physical manifestation of the aether in our dimension"

It means Maxis is in the Aether and have control of the zombies and that's why their eyes are orange in Black Ops 3.

In Origins we opened a portal, that portal allows Maxis to have control of zombies in every universe.

More proof is Maxis speaking in Shadows of Evil:

"To any survivors of this realm, I am truly sorry. I wish I could offer you some words of comfort, but I cannot. It is my hope that I can rid the universe of the evil that has plagued us for so long. But in my heart, I know many more dimensions will be lost forever as we continue our journey towards peace. Forgive me."

How the heck did Maxis contact us ? Simple, he is in the Aether.

Even in ZnS quotes:

Dempsey: Hey Richtofen, why don't you tell your pal Maxis to drop us off exactly where we need to be next time?

Maxis controlled the zombies from the moment we played Shadows of Evil until Zetsubou No Shima.

However I assume the reason the zombies eyes are red is because the portal in Origins has been closed.

In one of ciphers found in ZnS:

Now why the zombies eyes are red in Gorod Krovi ?

The portal in Origins has been closed.

What does this means ?

Our origins crew are doomed just like the MOTD crew.

The door they use to move between universes has been shut.

All the time we moved from SE until ZnS, we remained contacted with our souls in Origins.

But now we have been disconnected, which means our situation is similar to MOTD crew where we don't know weather we are dead or alive.

I guess I have solved it but I don't know.

My theory could be wrong but there's so much stuff pointing that it's correct.
