Anyone cattle-rancher-logger in Amazon, what are your thoughts on your job?

Sustainable? Cattle are not native animals. Grass is not a native plant. Soy is a monoculture. Just forget about it! Even in the U.S., ranchers lie like so much that they actually believe themselves when they say they are "stewards of the land" What a total lie! I came here because I get really depressed about Amazon deforestation. I have learned about the crazy land ownership issues in Brazil, but mainly I am disappointed in Brazilians themselves for being so much after money, for loving to eat meat so much and for being utterly lawless and immoral with the wilderness. I used to think I liked Brazil, I am even married to a Brazilian, but now am sometimes really hating Brazil and Brazilian culture (so does my wife in many respects). I agree that rancher/loggers/miners are going to be uneducated mercenary types and their controllers will be mafia types. The tragedy is they will make so little of it while doing so much damage. Actually, I have no idea how much money they make, but I think mostly goes to the bosses.
