Why are Brazilians so open towards foreigners?

Depends on the Brazilians; they’re humans and all different just like the people in any other country. Some are super nice to foreigners at all times. Some are only nice as long as you’re a tourist, but will hate you if you decide to stay (and will likely charge you gringo prices). Others just hate all foreigners with no exceptions. It’s not all equal and I find there’s a lot more xenophobia here than in Canada for example. A guy in my region went as far as kill a foreigner for “stealing a Brazilian’s job”. Meanwhile others will bend over backwards to make sure a foreigner is happy and will do things for a foreigner that they would never do for a Brazilian. Brazil is also a huge country with significant regional cultural differences.
