Is anyone else finding this patch rather depressing?

Yes, it's absolutely fucking depressing.

  • Lucio's fucked. He's slow, he loses the speed you do manage to build up way too fast, and superboost being gone has murdered a lot of movement potential.

  • Vertical control is indeed gutted. I mean, there's no other way to put it - I simply feel like I've got much less movement control when moving up and down a section of the map.

  • Mercy is fucking up the game. Blizzard just doesn't understand that Resurrect is too strong of an ability to remain in the game in its' current state.

With every patch I have had exponentially less faith in Overwatch team's balancing - at this point it feels like they made it fun on accident, and now that they're "refining" it - it's getting way more stiff and less fun. It feels like a flat MOBA to be honest, where mechanical skill matters way less than hero combinations and game knowledge. You have to be a fucking nerd about it, basically. You can't just get into the game and be good at a character and pull it out by the skin of your teeth anymore. It's all hard metagame from here on out.
