Anyone else starting to feel like this school isn't for them or is just too expensive?

No, you obviously didn't read my full statement and you conveniently edited my comment to fit your narrative.

For starters, not everyone has access to, or can afford, a higher education, so requiring a degree only eliminates many applicants who could potentially contribute amazing things to the industry. Think of all the great scientists and engineers who didn't have a formal education like Musk, Faraday, Gates, etc. These men and others like them, have changed society with their contributions, all without a formal education.

2nd, my hypothetical entrance exam in my speculative hiring process would allow the possibility for ANYONE with the required knowledge to apply, regardless of how much money you paid, to get that knowledge. Whether you learned it from YouTube or an overpriced classroom would make no difference. If you know the material, that's all that matters.
