Autumn leaves and related thoughts

The only winery I have ever visited was in Canada, in Pelee Island which is on Lake Erie, halfway between Canada and the States. It was September 2005

That's interestingly different ... visiting wineries is a big recreational industry right across the southern third of Australia, and I (like many people) would have done it dozens and dozens of times.

It's the sort of thing you do with your visitors, or to give ageing parents a nice Sunday out. And lots of people have weddings at cellar doors.

And these places aren't rustic sheds in a ragged-arse vineyard ... some are vast estates, with impressive and expensive buildings, and restaurants seating hundreds, and shops selling very top-shelf apparel, art, local foods, and so on.
