15 years ago I moved from interstate to Broadbeach Waters. 1 month after moving my car was stolen by a 16yo. I did get it back, but with no clutch and a wreaked steering column. My car never recovered from that and the 16yo got a light slap on the wrist.

The proceeding 10 years of 15 I lived in Broadbeach Waters. Within the few blocks of each house there was certainly plenty of crime. Armed robberies, theft, arson and even a murder (friend caught the shooting on his sleeping app!).

Would I live there again? Hell yes, best suburb on the GC! Centralized but far enough away from the fray that is Broadbeach and Surfers. Honestly, just use common sense. Crime happens everywhere. Lock your doors at night. Lock your car doors at night. Don't go flashing a garage full of expensive toys to anyone who could be walking past. Install CCTV if its' your house. Use automatic lighting. Befriend your neighbors.
