Best Captain in KNB

I think you are misunderstanding my point on Haizaki and some of the show references. I am not saying that Haizaki leaving the team wasn't a net positive for Teiko, Akashi or Kise. Him leaving was the best thing that could of happened and was the right result. I am however being critical of the path they choose to get there. I think you can differentiate those two things and be fair to all sides when judging this. Akashi unilaterally made a decision on his own, didn't consult teammates or the coach as it wasn't stated as doing so. It might not have been the spark that caused the Teiko disaster but it can't really be said to have helped them either.

Objectively speaking Haizaki left with a grudge against the other miracles especially Kise he was willing to throw away his future and their by fighting. He spiraled out of the little control they had on him when he had no reason to fear any none criminal actions. The team itself still imploded because od the egos involved and Kise was one of those egos. The chemistry got worse than what it was previously which leads me to believe that while Haizaki was awful off the court he more or less accepted his role on the court. Teiko still won games but it wasn't because of team leadership, chemistry or coaching it was all just through superior talent. As for Kise specifically if you look at his playing and and abilitiy through out the series you could see the talent was their but the experience and knowledge was missing. While he is making it up and the case can be made that its better to have it through playing instead of watching. You can still see he wasn't ready for being at the miracle level upto atleast the first season at the earliest.

We don't know if he made it worse or better at all and there is enough evidence to make the case either way. If the situation started at the exact bottom possible and him joining didn't raise it a little then while it didn't get worse does it mean he was helpful for it. Adding a skilled player does improve the team but there isn't a way to justify his
