Engineer warned of ‘major structural damage’ at Florida Condo Complex in 2018

I worked at Morabito Consultants about 3 years ago doing IT work and know Frank Morabito.

I've chatted to another engineer who is still employed there and they said that Frank reported cracks and rust in 21 out of the 37 support columns. Apparently not only were there cracks but extreme rust and salt corrosion in the rebar in half the support beams, and 4 beams nearby had shifted off their base.

He gave all the information to the owners (Champlain Towers South Condominium Association) and said this building needs to be evacuated and immediately repaired.

It seems like the condo association was getting ready to do repairs, but I think they waited far beyond the point of criminal negligence in this case.

I wonder who's going to prison if anyone for this massive failure to handle the situation
