r/POF u/Over-Association3549 avatarOver-Association3549 2d Bonuses of being a shy guy on POF Since re-joining POF, I have had the most amazing confidence boost and it's not from acceptance, it's from the rejections that I get.
Being able to so call practice my "game" by seeing what works and also making me a better communicator. I took the skills I gained in conversation and brought it to the real world. Of course there is my social anxiety right around the corner weither online on POF or in person.
From changing a simple hi or hey to actual getting the other person involved in the conversation by genuinely showing my interest. It works!
I haven't met anyone on POF yet( I do get replies from a lot more girls then I did before) ... But I did manage to get a date with a stranger who just so happened to walk by me and I showed interest and struck a simple engaging conversation leading up to a date that same evening.
I wouldn't have been able to do it without having no replies from the many conversations that I tried to start, that made me think hmmm what am I doing/saying wrong...
There are still incompatible matches, and the Instagram/Snapchat people's. But none the less. I appreciate the app

For example I'll look at their profile. If she likes music I'll ask what was the last song you've listened too?
Or here's an epic one that worked really well.

Yup. And I have social anxiety disorder. But wow never knew I had it in me to think of stuff like that to say.
