Buddhists for Trump: A call for dialog with Buddhists who support Trump from Brad Warner.

I often wonder what a successful Trump presidency means. Does it mean moving backwards in terms of healthcare, gay rights, women rights, crime, etc? If that is the case, I hope it is not successful. :P

Trump said on 60 minutes the other night that gay marriage is a done deal. The supreme court settled it, and the views of our future AG or VP are meaningless. Same goes for abortion. Even if Trump appoints pro-life justices, the SCOTUS is not going to overturn Roe v Wade. And I have personally bet $1,000 to several of my pro-choice friends that that will never happen. As for crime? I think having a POTUS that supports our law enforcement and the difficult choices they face every day will be a plus. There was way to much running to judgment under the last 8 years. Sometimes the police had used unjustified force, and other times it was proven to be justified. As for healthcare? Well ACA is falling apart right now with major providers pulling out of state markets and premiums rising in different regions. I think Trump's idea, which isn't a new one, to eliminate the state borders for insurance options may be beneficial, we'll have to wait and see.
