Character vs Character: Kaito Momota vs Chiaki Nanami

I was uncomfortable with the whole Korekiyo thing too. I definitely felt like they were using his femininity as a way of making him seem creepier, which ... ugh. I don't remember what Kaito said specifically in English. I got the feel that the entire game's viewpoint towards Kiyo's feminine side was bad - this is the opposite of what I said earlier with "a character being a certain way doesn't mean the author endorses it."

Okay, I'm sorry, I really had me agreeing with you until that point. Are you seriously going to ignore ALL the context behind Kiyo's actions and focus on the "feminine man" part? Nothing about his incestual relationship with this sister being a problem? Nothing about how he clearly has some kind of traumatic personality defect (akin to Toko) where he legitimately believes that his sister is possessing his body? Nothing about how he's a freaking deranged serial killer who loves his incest sister so much that he'll kill other girls for the sake of this weird relationship? None of that matters, you're going to ignore all that context and just gonna say "nah, the creators were totally endorsing that feminine men are creepy and evil"? Even though his reasons for being creepy and evil have nothing to do with femininity? (Also, he was actually one of Kodaka's favorite characters, but I know that's technically irrelevant to the discussion). Like... no offense, but it reminds me of the same people who say that Angie only exists to promote a "religion is evil" message when it's really not, it's more about cults and dangers of forcing ones' beliefs onto another.

...But going back to the other point, you made it seem like you think Kokichi is also a "feminine man" (which... I don't really get, but whatever), then shouldn't that go against what you think about the creators endorsing this idea? Because despite the narrative trying to heavily weigh you down on the idea that he's this bad guy, there's then a whole reveal that makes you re-evalute everything you knew about the character, that maybe he wasn't what he seemed and maybe he wasn't even that bad at all. Rather than painting him as "evil" or "creepy", it paints him as "misunderstood" and "complex".

Sorry about that, just had to get a word in there because I generally agreeing with everything you said except that point.
