Nothing, absolutely nothing in such a big company should be dependent of one person going to work or not. What would you do if one of your Devs has a a few broken bones with a 1-2 weeks stay at the hospital ? Is Dice closing doors and everything stands still ? The more you share the worse your company looks, Im starting to understand where all the lack of transparency came before you changed it up. All love to the people and individuals of the team, but as a company you guys really look like a joke.
