My response

"Tuesday night's election results cast doubt over whether love for diversity and opportunity is really what binds us together as a country. President-elect Trump, through his innumerable lies, was able to harness the anger that many Americans feel about the political "elite" and the false promises the average person has been fed. The Republican Party may have swept us in the election results, but they will continue to lie to their base and their base will come back even angrier in 2018 and 2020. What we have to decide is whether we are going to continue to be a party that is culpable in creating this anger and resentment or if we are going to become a party that uses that frustration in positive and meaningful ways. What we have to do is get rid of the DNC old guard. We will never have a coronation for a Democratic nominee again. Ever. We need to stop accepting money from corporate interests. Full stop. This is a skid we have to steer in to or otherwise we will be left reeling once again in 4 years. The Democratic Base simply cannot muster enthusiasm for candidates who engage in clandestine activities for the sake of either personal enrichment or party enrichment."
