COVID-19 and halls?

My opinion:

The current response of NZ govt is very aggressive compared to other countries. For example, the current cases either came from outside NZ or from immediate contacts. In other countries, the govts waited until community spread, in the sense that you don't know who you got it from specifically, occurred before taking this seriously. NZ's travel restrictions are very aggressive (which I think is the right move) in comparison to other countries timelines for when they started drastic measures.

IMO, when the first real community spread case occurs all unis will move to online only and suggest social distancing but keep the halls open. If a case occurs with a uni student, then they will start closing halls. Other unis globally have enforced move outs but made it possible to petition to stay for extenuating circumstances (eg Italian nationals).
