If ten people are in close proximity in your net, and one believes very very strongly in something like Flat-Earth, their belief can override the other nine, since they don’t have a strong opinion.

Back before the term memes became pictures of cats, they were thought viruses, a way to academically describe how ideas spread through a population.

So the first crime is one of naivety, bad ideas but without bad intent. The other crime could be facilitated by something like hypnosis, or gaslighting, forcing thought into another person. Literally, mind rape.
