(Crosspost, it’s mine) So, what would be your dream Gen-5 Remake?

Mine would be a Complete Edition of both the first game and the sequel, like Digimon Cyber Sleuth for the Switch. It would have 2D-HD graphics (the same seen in Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, and the Live A Live Remakes) with higher quality Gen-5 sprites (just to stay true to the original graphics since Gen-5 was effectively 2D-HD before it was even a thing…and just without the HD graphics), dynamic battle Backgrounds(like in Legend’s Arceus), and especially skippable higher quality cutscenes that feature the full trainer sprites for them.

The music would have 3 options, with original Music being one option, remastered music(example music from Irikachana) based on upgraded midi files(my personal favorite option), and the third being fully remade music(example made by Vetrom).

The upgrades would feature all the Dream Link stuff if you beat the first game before doing the second game, Difficulty settings available right from the start(meaning no bs key mechanics), and would include Fairy types, Mega Evolution(possibly as post game only for the first game to help keep the story intact), dynamic speed mechanics, alongside an EXP-Share that can be turned off.

Finally, it would also feature the postgame of the sequel containing a bonus battle against the protagonist of the first game, based on your clear save file for the first game, but with scaled levels, where you’d unlock the other legendary from that battle and get access to the original dragon, making it postgame content only available after beating both games.

Ideally, they’d also rebalance the Pokémon available in the game to make the bad Pokémon a lot better to use, giving proper buffs to Pokémon like Ledian, but that’s pure fantasy, so instead I’d rather they make the games in an easy to mod Game-Engine like Unity or that Legend’s Arceus game-engine so that modders can do it instead, finally letting certain Pokémon shine.
