Tried posting this as a thread but it concerns a resume. I believe this is the correct time to post here. I'm copying and pasting what I had. Sorry for the length!

Long story short, I decided to pursue a bachelors in CS in my mid twenties after working dead end jobs since high school. I have been doing well in my classes and am learning a lot. I am officially a Junior on Monday, and have exactly 4 regular semesters left. I may take classes over the next two summers to finish sooner.

I feel like I am at the point where I could get an internship doing very basic work. The problem is that I don't have anything on my resume related to CS besides my current major and my GPA. Should I bother putting my old jobs on there? It just seems weird. I worked construction for a few years, retail, and as a mechanic's assistant. It just does not fit well and bums me out.

I know C and C++ quite well. I will also be diving deep into Java in my upcoming semester. I have a 3.8 GPA and an associates degree in liberal arts (It made transferring to university easier).

Is there any way that I can use this info and make it look appealing for a potential internship? Could I possibly list the CS courses that I have taken?

If you were an employer looking to hire an intern, would seeing a completely unrelated work history turn you away?
