I have the opposite view. I have never heard about anyone losing their VET on binance.us before and if you add 2fa than it's even more secure, but I have read plenty of horror stories about people that had their VET on the official wallet and they lost it either while sending or receiving it from a exchange. Either they put in the wrong address or it just dissapeared into cyber space while in transit and since you can't buy VET directly from the wallet you will always have to send/receive from a exchange, or the people who redownload the wallet app and suddenly their seed phrase doesn't work anymore and their permanently locked out of their wallet or some people just lose their seed phrase. Sometimes shit happens regardless of how careful you are. If you hold on a exchange like Binance than you don't have to worry about any of this stuff and they still give you rewards just like the wallet does.
