Was Dishwashing your first job? If no, say in the comments what it was, and how you got into dishwashing from there.

old man. first job was the night donut guy at a grocery store. did that for a few years, then fucked off and just smoked weed and meth for awhile. got a job at a craft store and worked up to department manager, then fucked off and just smoked meth and weed for a whole lot longer. at around 40, finally put down the meth pipe and just kinda was depressed and shit for a good long time. after like 20 years without a job, got my shit somewhat together in my head enough to get a dishwasher job for minimum wage at a retirement community. pretty much threw myself into it, lost 60 lbs of goblin weight in about a year, then just kept going with insane work ethic towards whatever they ask me to do. just got a promotion to prep cook and a $2 raise and every department at the retirement community has offered to snipe me. honestly finding the caregiving might be for me, as far as for a carry me through to the end carrier, but for now the cook shit has got me. it's a very chill situation to be learning absolutely everything about the kitchen.
